Description: 

Overview 

 

Lafarge has an immediate opening for an experienced Labourer who will join our Fort McMurray RMX group. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Perform general construction labor to include plant clean-up and moving of materials by hand.
  • Operating motorized equipment including power tools, loaders, telehandlers
  • Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
  • Perform general plant maintenance ie. Greasing and inspecting plant.
  • Work could but could be exposed to cold and heat, noise and dust.

 

Qualification 

 

Education: 

 

  • High school diploma

 

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Preference given to candidates with concrete construction labor work experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations.
  • Preference also given to those willing to learn and work in a team environment.

 

Compentencies & Attributes 

 

  • Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.
  • Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing.
  • Frequent use of hand tools such as power tools, circular saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Safety oriented
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
  • Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including weekends
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Able to work well with others
  • Good communication skills
