Pay: $37.75 - $40.85 + $1.00 Shift Differential $1,000 Sign on after 90 days
The Maintenance Technician position supports the plant by checking, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform periodic, scheduled inspections and checks of equipment to determine whether failures or issues are present and determine how soon the corrections/adjustments may need to be made
- Assemble and disassemble machines to make repairs, perform inspections, and replace with new items while maintaining safety and production goals in mind
- Troubleshoot equipment to identify root cause(s) and suggest appropriate follow-up actions
- Identify failed components and determine necessary replacement parts
- Interact directly with production and other plant teammates in a professional manner
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to receive work instructions, identify parts that belong to machines, and fully document work performed
- Comply with all safety and environmental protocols relating to operations
- Locate spare parts in the storeroom and follow stock check-out processes
- Maintain a dedicated toolbox and shared maintenance tools and supplies in a organized manner so that materials can be accessed quickly and reliably
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma
- Five or more years’ experience in an industrial environment as a maintenance employee performing Preventive (planned) and Corrective (unplanned) Maintenance
- Knowledge of and experience working in all the following areas:
- Mechanical
- Power Transmission – chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, brakes, couplings, etc.
- Lubrication – oils, greases, storage and handling, application, etc.
- Hydraulics & Pneumatics – valves, actuators, compressors and pumps, piping and tubing, etc.
- Electrical
- DC Circuits – relays, contactors, power supplies, etc.
- AC Circuits (120V to 480V) – motors, drives, transformers, etc.
- Process Control
- Industrial Automation – robotics, PID, machine control, etc.
- PLCs & Networking – communication, signals, I/O, LANs, etc.
- Mechanical
Desired:
- Associates degree or 2+ years of vocational training
- Experience with maintenance technologies such as Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasound Inspection, Oil Analysis, and Precision Alignment
- Certifications in mechanical/industrial fields (electrician, millwright, welding, etc.)
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT)
Working Conditions
Indoor dusty, non-air-conditioned industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment that are subject to temperatures that range from 65 to 90 degrees in the general working environment and hotter in certain areas of the plant. Occasional outdoor activities in hot or adverse weather. Twenty-four hour working environment with multiple shifts and varying schedules.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and perform duties on an elevated platform
- Ability to kneel, bend, reach and stoop
- Ability to read, interpret and utilize drawings and diagrams (electrical, piping, P&ID)
- Ability to pass a Mobile Equipment test
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time for training and data entry purposes
