Overview:

This Business Engineering Leader will manage capital projects (design, installation, & execution) and engineering manufacturing programs across Holcim Building Envelope facilities.  The position will be located our Rockland Plant (Boston, Massachusetts area). The incumbent will manage scope, schedule, and budget for capital projects and manufacturing programs, and deliver stated project and program objectives, utilizing standard project management tools and working within a Stage Gate capital process. This position will require around 25%-50% travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive process safety and construction safety for projects and programs managed;
  • Lead cross-functional teams through a Stage Gate capital process for project development and execution;
  • Manage Scope, Schedule, Resources, and Budget for capital projects and manufacturing programs, and deliver stated project and program objectives;
  • Investigate new processes, technologies, and equipment to meet business objectives;
  • Support Manufacturing in process improvement, debottlenecking, and yield gain efforts while providing technical support;
  • Specify equipment with optimal configuration so that they can be readily adapted to suit product specifications;
  • Ensure communication and Alignment with site and operations leadership on all project details;
  • Manage and/or Collaborate with the Project Team and key stakeholders;
  • Identify key equipment vendors and project resources;
  • Provide innovative engineering solutions resulting in projects completed on time and on budget;
  • Manage multiple, complex projects from concept to completion;
  • Coordinate and lead project charter reviews, design reviews, and execution plans with top-down communication ensuring project objectives are achieved and aligned;
  • Develop detailed project schedules in MS Project or equivalent and manage activities to schedule;
  • Develop detailed scopes of work and project execution plans for projects and programs managed;
  • Promote and support the application of the Management of Change (MOC) and Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) standards;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Equivalent experience.
  • Professional
    • Extensive project management (planning and execution) experience in the processing industries;
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, collect and document project requirements, and successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously;
    • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key stakeholder groups;
    • Strong written & verbal communication skills;
    • Google Suite of Systems skills (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides, Drive, etc.);
    • Ability to travel as needed to effectively manage projects;
      • Estimated to be around 25%-50% of the time.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Educational;
    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional;
    • ​​​​​​​10+ years of project management experience in the processing industries;
    • Web handling and chemical processing experience;
    • Plant & Engineering Management Leadership Experience;
    • Experience in World Class Manufacturing or Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma methodologies;
    • Experience with Electrical, Data Management & Controls Systems;
    • Experience with Safe Management of Change, PHAs or HAZOPs;
    • Experience with Regulatory Standard compliance;
      • Including OSHA, EPA, and FDA.
