SUMMARY OF THE JOB 

 

As the AI Strategy and Portfolio Manager, you serve as the strategic architect of the organization's artificial intelligence ecosystem. You are responsible for centralizing the management of AI initiatives, ensuring they align with global corporate strategy and digital transformation objectives. Your role encompasses the entire lifecycle of AI investment—from initial strategy formulation and portfolio prioritization to governance oversight and the final realization of business value. You act as the primary interface between technical implementation teams and executive stakeholders to drive a cohesive, value-driven AI roadmap.

 

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

 

AI Strategic Leadership & Value Realization 

  • Roadmap Orchestration: Convert the overarching AI vision into a structured program of work, steering project lifecycles from initial ideation and Proof of Concept (PoC) through to large-scale production deployment.

  • Portfolio Management: Direct the global AI portfolio to ensure that high-impact initiatives are effectively prioritized and remain aligned with organizational domains.

  • Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, vendor partnerships, and internal delivery capacity to optimize the execution of the global AI roadmap.

  • Value Realization: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track AI adoption rates, operational efficiency improvements, and tangible business impact.

  • Ecosystem & Partnerships: Cultivate strategic partnerships with startups, Venture Capital (VC) firms, and academic institutions, while managing investor relations concerning AI innovation and the project portfolio.

AI Governance & Oversight 

  • Governance Oversight: Provide strategic orientation and high-level supervision to the  AI Governance & Ethics Manager, ensuring the responsible and compliant adoption of AI technologies across the organization, while delegating the tactical execution of policy development, inventory management, and compliance audits.

  • Internal Program Governance: Facilitate the preparation and program management of internal governance for key strategic forums, including the Tech Board and AI Acceleration Board.

AI Organization & Workforce enablement 

  • CoP Orchestration: Direct the global AI Community of Practice to facilitate the seamless exchange of enterprise-grade best practices, reusable code repositories, and critical lessons learned across technical and business functions.

  • Literacy & Upskilling: Oversee the strategic development of the AI & Digital Transformation (DT) Academy, crafting specialized training tracks to equip the global workforce with essential responsible AI foundations.

  • Internal Evangelism: Spearhead "Demo Days," collaborative workshops, and hackathons to promote innovation milestones and clarify AI capabilities for non-technical stakeholders.

JOB DIMENSIONS

 

  • Direct Reports: Lead a specialized team of approximately 2 FTEs, providing strategic oversight for AI implementation and enterprise governance initiatives.

  • Internal Interfaces: Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with GDS leadership, Product Managers, and Global Functions—including Finance, Commercial, Manufacturing Logistics and Sustainability—alongside regional Digital Centers.

  • External Interfaces: Cultivate strategic partnerships with third-party vendors and academic institutions for upskilling programs, while representing the organization at global AI innovation summits.

 

PROFILE REQUIRED 

Sector Experience: Over 5 years of proven success in managing large-scale digital transformation programs, with a preferred focus on the manufacturing industry.

  • Program Orchestration: Robust proficiencies in program and project management, underpinned by strong financial planning capabilities and business acumen.

  • Strategic Leadership: Extensive expertise in AI and digital strategy, combined with high-level business acumen and specific domain knowledge.

  • Technical Literacy: Foundational technical proficiency in artificial intelligence and data-driven frameworks.

  • Communication Excellence: Superior strategic storytelling and technical documentation skills, with full professional fluency in written and spoken English.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction materials, manufacturing, or logistics sectors it’s a plus.
