ABOUT THE ROLE
The Aggregates and Mine Planning Manager is a support role for our aggregate operations in a Regional US Market. This position offers a wide variety of responsibilities, including mine planning, assessment of greenfield sites/acquisitions, and optimization of local mining operations. Additionally, the Aggregate and Mine Planning Manager will coordinate with key stakeholders on reserve replacement, land and inventory survey requirements, and mine plan execution.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

- Mine and Geological Planning: Construct and maintain 3D geologic models of sand & gravel sites and crushed stone quarries.
- Short-, mid-, and long-term mine planning, including life-of-mine plans and stripping programs.
- Assist with greenfield and new site development.
- Design and manage drill programs.
- Design and enhance quarry safety for site configuration, pit design, and geotechnical safety.
- Help identify and analyze market positions of both competitors and customers. Utilize such analysis to derive opportunities to expand and/or replenish reserves. Assist in the development of aggregates business strategic plan.
- Generate necessary plans and technical illustrations to effectively communicate mine, stripping plans, and reclamation plans to operational staff.
- Facilitating involvement of management, operations, environment, land departments, and external consultants.
- Interacting with Operations to present findings and project updates.
- Supporting proposal preparation and technical evaluation for mining opportunities.
- Coordinate and assist with periodic mine plan reviews for updating and revision with all major stakeholders.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Mine Engineering, Geologic Engineering, Geology, or related field.
Required Work Experience: Minimum 5 to 10 years relevant experience in managing engineering technical services and support, preferably in direct or related mining field, and supervisory experience.
Required Training/Certifications: Professional engineering or geology certification/license preferred. Up-to-date MSHA training is a plus
Required Computer and Software Skills: experience with 3D mining software, preferably Carlson and Maptek packages
Travel Requirements: 30% to 50% travel between regions and conduct fieldwork as needed.

- Familiarity with mining methods and appropriate planning.
- Knowledge of industrial geology pertaining to aggregates, including drill hole logs, bedrock geology and QAQC specifications.

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
