ABOUT THE ROLE
This position reports directly to the Electrical Supervisor. All duties are performed in a work-safe manner; plant safety rules are followed and individual works as a team member. The primary responsibility is to assist in the operation of the plant.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Install electrical and pneumatic instrumentation equipment and conductors in accordance with the Company’s Standards.
- Maintain and calibrate electrical and pneumatic control systems
- Troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and computer networking issues
- Maintain and troubleshoot continuous emissions monitoring systems
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot level sensors, pressure transmitters and thermal sensors
- Troubleshoot problems in a systematic, logical manner to determine reasons for failures and necessary steps to make repairs.
- Perform necessary PMR to electrical and pneumatic instrumentation installations in the plant and notify supervisor for any findings
- Use the SAP system to document work progress, communicating work progress status and identify support needed for work completion
- Perform annual ground resistance testing
- Perform basic Preventive Maintenance on HVAC equipment
- Perform basic Preventive Maintenance on Compressed Air Drying Equipment
- Work effectively with other plant personnel to resolve problems not necessarily related to electrical.
- Operate mobile equipment needed in performance of the job in a safe manner and within plant guidelines (forklift, man lift, truck)
- Perform such other duties, including those not related to craft, as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
- Occasionally oversee contractors when needed.
- Respond to call-outs during non-work hours as needed.
- Contribute in making estimates of material requirements for preparation, requisitions of material needed
- Be able to read and work from schematics and detailed instructions.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis and contribute ideas to prevent repeated equipment failures
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: High School diploma/GED or 3 years of equivalent experience.
Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree
Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Technology
Required Work Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in the electrical field in the cement manufacturing or related industry.
Travel Requirements: 0-10%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
