This position is preferred to be located in Chicago, IL, but we are open to remote work.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is the responsible implementation of the Holcim Security & Resilience program in North America, with a strong focus on preventative security, business resilience measuring performance, collecting open source information, and reporting.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining close contact with all internal relevant stakeholders to coordinate the security networks in the countries, and build relationships with key external resources to ensure that reliable security information is gathered; and
  • Plan and develop regular and ad hoc security assessment missions as necessary, and business resilience maturity assessments in order to analyze the overall security situation in existing and potential areas of operation.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Global Security Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive global security strategy aligned with the Company's business objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities across the organization and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Security Policies  &  Procedures: Develop and maintain corporate security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across all Company locations.
  • Security Operations: Oversee the day-to-day security operations, including access control, surveillance, and physical security measures, to safeguard Company facilities and assets.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and lead crisis management and response plans, ensuring the organization is prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and critical incidents.
  • Global Security Team: Build, lead, and mentor a global security team, ensuring they are well-equipped to execute their roles and responsibilities.
  • Security Technology: Evaluate, select, and implement security technology solutions to enhance the effectiveness of security measures and systems.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with security service providers and vendors, ensuring quality service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Security Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver security training programs and awareness campaigns to educate employees on security best practices.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the security department's budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track the effectiveness of security programs and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Geopolitics, Risk Management 
Required Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of international experience in multinational security management; and
  • Proven experience in the primary and secondary economy sectors is a must.
  • Military or law enforcement experience is a plus

Required Training/Certifications: Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred

Required Computer and Software Skills:  Microsoft Office

Travel Requirements:  at least 50%

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven  where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential. Additional language(s) a plus.
  • Ability to provide advice, influence, support, and lead field staff in a consultative manner. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team player with solid collaboration skills (skills to bring people together and capable of finding consensus).
  • Able and willing to learn new skills, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies and trends.
  • Crisis management and response experience.
