ABOUT THE ROLE
The Loader Operator operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt the bucket and drives the front-end loader forward to force the bucket into bulk material. Moves levers to raise and tilt the bucket when filled, drives the vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
- Preform daily pre/post trip inspection on any equipment operated including the plant
- Perform assignments outlined by supervisors and standard procedures are followed in the performance of duties. Work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation. Performs routine maintenance on the loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning/pressure washing weekly.
- Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors and customers serviced.
- Stockpile Management and inventory management
- Effectively communicates with Plant Operator, Ready Mix Drivers and Aggregate Haulers
- Assist Plant Operator with plant maintenance, cleanliness and other daily task.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS
- This position will work with Operators, maintenance and management. They will communicate and work together to ensure the customer’s needs are met in a safety and constructive manner.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience: Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment, construction, or paving required.
Education: High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 12 months of loader operator experience with CAT 950 or above required
- Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills required
- Proven safety record.required
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds required
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
