ABOUT THE ROLE
Efficiently manage all aspects of scheduling, transportation, unloading, and blending operations for Alternative Raw Materials at the Holly Hill plant in South Carolina. Develop and implement technical solutions while overseeing quality assurance programs to ensure the consistent performance of alternative raw material streams. Collaborate with plant team and external transportation providers to effectively service both internal and external customers. Drive the prequalification of new alternative materials and support both active and passive cycles to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Collaborate with the Holcim logistics team to obtain rate quotes and establish shipment schedules acrossvarious modes of transportation.
  • Work closely with plant teams and the supply chain organization to secure the supply of Alternative RawMaterials (ARMs).
  • Partner with cement plants to develop market-driven solutions for ARMs, focusing on operational efficiencyand sustainability.
  • Manage ARM inventory; coordinate plant consumption plans with material delivery schedules to ensure  well controlled inventory of all ARMs
  • Monitor consumption and delivery volumes to ensure compliance of all contractual obligations. Monitor and evaluate substitution benefits of ARMs to maximize plant performance.
  • Coordinates and monitors subcontracted activities required for ARM supply including, but not limited to:unloading, storage operations when supported by third parties at the plant.
  • Coordinates and monitors preprocessing and blending operations provided by third parties. Ensure adherence to QA/QC programs to maintain material quality standards.
  • Work with plant management team to update and implement Standard Operating Procedures that govern ARM supply and consumption
  • Act as the primary contact for resolving shipment issues and ensuring a seamless customer experience. Plan and manage shipping schedules from manufacturing sites, track and expedite shipments as needed. Address potential inventory challenges by implementing corrective actions, processing cancellations, and managing order changes. dentify and execute supply chain efficiency initiatives to optimize logistics performance.
  • Develop and maintain weekly/monthly operational and logistics KPIs to track performance and drive continuous improvement. Assist in the financial reconciliation of invoices and maintain accurate records for budgeting and reporting purposes.
  • Manage the purchase order process in coordination with the plant and procurement teams, ensuring timely creation, tracking, and payment of invoices.  Participate in contract negotiations with transportation service providers to secure favorable terms.

 

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS

  • Interfaces and communicates effectively with plants to facilitate the execution of the production and delivery plan(s). Serves as a liaison between internal and external customers for inventory issues.
  • Acting liaison between the transportation, supplier management and internal teams
  • The role will interact on monthly basis with Sales on trucking payment and billing.
  •  Interact with all levels of personnel on the Logistics organization ensure carriers are setup and paid.
  • Continuous interaction with NABS to ensure carrier are paid and setup correctly

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: or 3-5 years equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Transportation or related field
Required Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant logistics experience in the construction or trucking industry preferred with a
working knowledge of rail and barge

  • Management skills: Demonstrated management skills and leadership abilities.
  • Communication skills: Good oral and written communication in order to give instructions, explain procedures and train staff. Basic computer skills and the ability to complete reporting requirements.
  • Mathematics Skill: Ability to perform mathematical calculations of moderate complexity such as ratios andpercentages in order to calculate the amount of fuel available for processing and to prepare reports.
  • Problem-solving skills: Demonstrated ability to define operation problems, identify needs, resolve problems,analyze and interpret results in order to oversee all production activities.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicablelaw, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
