ABOUT THE ROLE

Holcim is an environmentally responsible producer of high quality construction materials. We operate six regional construction materials businesses and a national Building Materials business in the United States, supplying aggregate-based materials and contracting services to a wide range of projects including large, publicly financed infrastructure projects, commercial, and residential developments. The core business of producing crushed stone and sand and gravel is enhanced by value adding operations that produce ready mixed concrete, asphalt, and concrete products. In addition, recycling, liquid asphalt, soil remediation and retailing operations are also offered in some business regions. Currently we are seeking high energy candidates with experience and with a combination of the below description.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
  • Operates Loader vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas.
  • Performs the day-to-day activities of a plant (Ready Mix), duties could include tasks associated with maintaining the stationary equipment of various plants.
  • Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate loader. Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material. MovesMoves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
  • Perform assignments outlined by supervisors and standard procedures are followed in the performance of duties. Work is inspected periodically for safety and economy in operation. Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Maintain equipment in proper working order.
  • Maintain and review maintenance logs for repairs.
  • Maintain an effective system of communications with supervisors, drivers and crew, laborers and operators, and customers serviced.
  • Safely operate loader and perform mechanic and general plant maintance duties.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions, maintain good housekeeping around the plant site.
  • Perform daily pre-trip safety inspections, report defects or problems.
  • Load bins to ensure appropriate stock levels and load haul trucks while maintaining safe area for stock piling and customer load out.
  • Maintain berms in appropriate areas.
  • Use safe practices in all activities

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Additional Education Preferred: Associates
  • Required Work Experience: 3-5 year
  • Required Training: Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment, construction, or asphalt. Additioanl Requirements:
  • Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills.
  • Proven safety record.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved
  • Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
