This role is focused on security & human rights, under the lead of Group Security & Resilience (GS&R), and embedded in the Legal & Compliance department.
Responsibilities
- Lead a research project to evaluate the implementation of the Security Services with Integrity (SSI) program from GS&R in the countries where we operate, as part of Holcim’s responsibilities in ESG, under the umbrella of Holcim’s Human Rights & Social Policy.
- Establish robust processes to map, measure and assess the performance of Holcim’s management of their Private Security Providers (PSPs) at country level, measuring their level of implementation of the SSI programme, their level of compliance with international best practices such as the Code from ICoCA, the robustness of contracts between Holcim and PSPs, and the maturity level of PSPs against the Code.
- Evaluate the effective management of PSPs amongst our 60 countries, possibly extended to relations with Public Security Forces being actively engaged in Holcim operations.
- Work cross functionally with other Holcim functions dealing with human rights in the in-scope countries, including: Sustainable Development, Procurement, Legal & Compliance, Health - Safety - Environment, Human Resources.
- Work closely with the data analysts from GS&R.
- Collect data through interviews with representatives in selected high-risk / complex environment countries.
- Present results with key performance indicators, identify maturity gaps, and prepare an executive summary, proposing a way ahead for Holcim to implement a sustainable process to continue the work after the end of the internship.

- The selected candidate will be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
- In case of a combined internship and thesis, the thesis will be marked as confidential in accordance with the University's regulations.
Your Profile
Education / Qualification
- Preferably Master of Science student in Responsible Management or a similar program .
- Bachelor degree.
Experience
- Prior knowledge on business and human rights.
- Experience with the security sector is an advantage.
- Experience with conducting data analysis and interviews.
- The participation in the University of Geneva’s Business and Human Rights Clinic is an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills
- Rigorous, analytical thinking.
- Strong data collection and analysis skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills in order to interview the country representatives.
- Good project management skills.
Language Requirements
- English C1/C2 (full working proficiency, oral & written).
- French B2 and/or German B2 is an advantage.
