The Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the global movement for sustainable architecture, design, and construction. The Foundation supports change-accelerators through its renowned international Awards competition, educational programs and knowledge-exchange events, championing ideas that lead to a healthier planet and thriving communities.

 

Role overview:

 

The Events & Communications Coordinator is a highly organized and proactive professional responsible for planning, executing, and promoting the Holcim Foundation's events and related communication materials. This role is crucial for amplifying the foundation's outreach, building a strong professional and student network, and strengthening existing stakeholder relationships. By blending strong event management with excellent communication and content creation skills, you will ensure the success and maximum impact of the Foundation’s initiatives related to sustainability and the built environment.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of all foundation events, including developing detailed timelines, managing venue logistics, and overseeing associated budgets.
  • Build and expand a diverse and influential network by collaborating with the foundation  team to identify, invite, and coordinate speakers and participants for each event, from academic and professional backgrounds.
  • Manage event-related communications, including the design of invitations, handling registration processes, and ensuring effective post-event follow-up.
  • Generate compelling content by synthesizing event insights and outcomes into engaging communication materials, such as articles, reports, and videos.
  • Collaborate with the communications team to strategically promote events and their resulting outputs to a wider external audience.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as attendance and network member engagement, to measure and communicate the network's growth and event outcomes to leadership.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event planning and management, with a track record of successfully organizing public or professional events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Urban Planning, Architecture, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear, engaging materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills for effectively engaging with partners, speakers, and vendors.
  • A strong history of seamless collaboration and teamwork with internal teams and external partners.
  • A genuine interest and passion for sustainable development, particularly in architecture and urban planning.
