Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator

Overview
As a member of the Caledon site team, the heavy mobile equipment operator executes the daily tasks of operating, maintaining and performing tasks related to equipment operation. In addition, the operator will assist and/or cover for breaks as required.
Responsibilities
Safety:
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Maintain environmental sustainability in the site operation.
Heavy Mobile Equipment Operation:
- Ensure assigned equipment is operated to OEM guidelines and industry best practices.
- Ensure that product outputs meet material quality specifications.
- Complete, review, and execute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual operation reports and metrics.
Heavy Mobile Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure that the equipment cab and exterior is kept presentable and functional.
- Ensure that plant equipment and surrounding areas are kept presentable and functional.
- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and preventative maintenance actions are scheduled and completed.
Other:
- Carry out cleaning tasks around the plant, site and shop as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the site
Relationships with Others Jobs:
- Reports to the Site Supervisor.
- This position requires liaison with the site quality control technician(s) and plant / equipment operator(s).
Qualifications
Education & Work Experience:
- Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
- Heavy mobile equipment operation (ie. Front end loader and haul truck) / training is an asset
- Industrial plant operation / training is an asset
Knowledge & Skills:
- Reliable
- Interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy is an asset
