Overview: 
This position is responsible for providing the highest level of staffing services to Lafarge business leaders in Western Canada operations. This position delivers high quality professional candidates and advances the Lafarge brand across numerous markets and professional communities, while guiding hiring managers and candidates through the Lafarge recruitment and selection process. This individual will perform full lifecycle recruiting and maintain excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates, the HR team, and the community at-large. A wide degree of customer focus, business understanding, and time management are required.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

Health & Safety:

  • Understands the safety objectives of the organization and supports these efforts in a visible manner
  • Communicates our Health & Safety culture to all prospective candidates throughout the recruitment process
  • Incorporates Health & Safety messaging in all external and internal recruitment communication
  • Probe on safety mindsets of candidates throughout the recruitment process

 

Recruitment:

  • Proactively manage full lifecycle recruiting for all salaried vacancies, in collaboration with the HR Team and Hiring Managers
  • Provide recruitment support for various hourly and contract openings in Western Canada
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Lafarge leaders, understanding key drivers to their business, working hands-on to proactively help Hiring Managers build successful teams
  • Maintain a time to fill of 45 days or less on all open positions
  • Leverage online recruiting resources and in-house Applicant Tracking System to identify and recruit the very best candidates
  • Source candidates for hard to fill roles
  • Create talent pipelines for hard to fill and strategic roles
  • Collaborate with Talent Manager and HR team to identify future gaps and strategic pipelines
  • Screen candidates and provide detailed recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Liaise with Total Rewards team to identify internal and external compensation benchmarking, making recommendations to HR and Hiring Managers
  • Manage and coordinate all communication and interviews with candidates during the recruitment process and ensure a positive candidate experience
  • Utilize of face-to-face behavioral-based interviewing methodologies 
  • Coach and train managers on interview guidelines and best practices
  • Support and coach Hiring Managers through the Hourly Hiring process
  • Provide interview and recruitment training to front line supervisors to support their hourly hiring endeavors
  • Maintain accurate documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring manager feedback, and other recruiting activities 
  • Manage background check and pre-employment medical checks, post offer
  • Work collaboratively with HR team on the extension of offers and the management of offer, negotiation, closing, and administrative components involved in full-cycle recruiting

 

Recruitment Strategy:

  • Provide professional internal staffing and sourcing services, minimizing requirements for 3rd party support
  • Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost effective advertising and sourcing strategies

 

Employer Branding:

  • Deploy employer branding strategies to support recruitment efforts in the business
  • Leverage employee value proposition and the marketing of such to internal and external audiences
  • Update and maintain our on-line presence for recruitment and careers at Lafarge (eg. LinkedIn, Corporate website, Indeed, etc.)
  • Attend career fairs and information sessions to recruit candidates and promote employer brand
  • Participate in the management of targeted co-op/internship programs

 

Diversity & Inclusion:

  • Create and foster relationships with diverse post-secondary and professional institutions/organizations to attract and recruit alumni and diversity candidates
  • Research and develop new opportunities to share the Lafarge employer brand with under-represented populations

 

Relationship with Other Jobs:

  • Initiates and maintains excellent working relationship within the Human Resources team
  • High level of interaction with Business Line Managers – The incumbent is expected to develop a thorough understanding of the business needs, business drivers, and culture 
  • Primary point of contact for all candidates, providing a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process

Qualifications:

 

Education:  

  • Diploma or Bachelors’ degree in HR and/or Business related field

 

Experience and Skill Set:

  • 2-5 years of experience in full life-cycle recruiting, preferably in an industrial or technical environment
  • High volume Agency recruiting experience an asset
  • Knowledge of full life-cycle recruiting components including proactive sourcing, qualifying, interviewing, coaching, networking, legal considerations and labour standards, job analysis, wage and salary trends, relationship management, due diligence
  • Demonstrated ability to function/recruit on a national, multi-location level
  • Demonstrated experience with online sourcing and database mining
  • Knowledge and past use of a an HRIS integrated Applicant Tracking System (SuccessFactors)
  • Demonstrated ability to command the attention and respect of leaders
  • Client relationship management experience and ability
  • Ability to travel as required
