Objective 
As a member of the Coldwater site team, the loader operator will execute the daily tasks of operating and maintaining the loader in accordance with Lafarge’s Best Practices and Policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipments operation

 

Responsibilities

 

Safety:

  • Promote safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC, subcontractors and suppliers, implementation and maintenance of local and regional initiatives with an objective of “zero” safety incidents.
  • Promotes safety policies, processes and review procedures to ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure that plant and surrounding site is kept safe, presentable, and functional. 

 

Production:

  • Load rock trucks or primary hopper to ensure the plant meets daily targets.
  • This position also requires operator to be able to operate a 775 rock truck occasionally.

 

Environmental Management:

  • Ensure that site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and Regulatory guidelines.

 

Equipment:

  • Ensure assigned equipment is operated and maintained to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices. 

 

Maintenance:

  • Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program 

 

Other:

  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
  • This position is for first shift (Approximately 5:30 am to 5:00 pm)

 

Relationships with Others Jobs

  • Reports to the Plant Foreman
  • This position requires extensive liaison with the weighmaster and Highway Truck Operators

 

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Safety: Near Miss and HI process, MVA’s, FA’s, MI’s, LTI’s, Daily Safety Huddles, Risk Assessments.
  • Maintenance: daily and annual inspection process, Prioritize deficiencies as they occur, 

 

Qualification Profile

 

Education & Work Experience:

  • Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Industrial plant operation experience an asset
  • Heavy equipment operation experience an asset

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Specific mobile equipment training
  • Specific Module  surface miner training
  • 980 Operating Training Course (Toromont)
  • Mechanical aptitude 
  • Computer literacy an asset
