Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a Project Coordinator to support the project management team on heavy civil, road, and infrastructure activities on various commercial, industrial, and civil transportation projects in the Greater Vancouver Area. This role will focus on the coordination of project tasks, ensuring smooth project execution, and liaising between the project team, clients, and subcontractors.

 

This role will be primarily night shift but may vary between day, night, or swing shifts based on project needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Oversee and coordinate daily project activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, timelines, and budgets.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the project team, including other coordinators, supervisors, and field crews to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Site Meetings: Attend, actively participate and record minutes in project site meetings, providing updates on project progress, identifying issues, and facilitating resolution.

  • Scheduling & Planning: Coordinate project schedules and activities with clients and internal teams, ensuring all aspects of the project are progressing as planned.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure that all required documentation, including project plans, schedules, safety plans, and environmental management plans, are accurately distributed and filed. Track and report on monthly progress, draw and provide forecast and scheduling reports as required by the project team.  Will need to generate, submit and track all project related RFI's (request for information) as required

  • Safety & Compliance: Responsible for safety and environmental reporting aspects of projects, ensuring adherence to OH&S and environmental regulations.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that the project scope, quality standards, and customer expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle with the assistance of the project team.

  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and resolving any project-related issues or disputes.

  • Cost Monitoring: Monitor and report project costs, track daily quantities for financial reporting and invoicing, and provide feedback to the operations team. Assist with invoicing ensuring financial targets are met.

  • Project Closeout: Assist in the project closeout, ensuring all documentation is handed over, and post-construction inspections are tracked and reported.

 

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Technology with a C.E.T designation or PMP is preferred. A combination of education and relevant field experience will also be considered.

  • Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of project coordination and field supervisory experience in construction projects. Experience managing projects valued at $500,000 or more is an asset.

  • Skills: Strong understanding of construction processes, with an emphasis on heavy civil infrastructure, road construction, and associated components (e.g., structural concrete, asphalt paving, etc.).

  • Computer Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or other construction management software.

  • Other: Asphalt experience is considered an asset. Familiarity with construction accounting is beneficial.

 

Wage: $38 to $45 per hour, based on experience and knowledge.
