WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Develop and instill a site level safety culture through consistent engagement with employees and contractors with an objective of “zero” harm.
- Lead daily huddles and participates with the JHSC to demonstrate commitment to workplace safety.
- Ensure front line employee compliance to all applicable local and regional health & safety policies and initiatives, including but not limited to hazard reporting, risk assessment, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Energy Isolation and Hot Work.
- Assist in the preparation for and participation in periodic health & safety site audits.
- Assist in the administration of the site Contractor Safety Management program, by completing site orientations, where required, and regularly auditing contractor performance to ensure compliance to applicable local and regional health & safety policies.
- Directly responsible for the individual development, motivation and training of all direct reports to maximize their performance.
- Responsible for the administration of disciplinary measures in a fair and consistent manner to address / correct substandard performance of all direct reports.
- Assist in the site hiring process; Assist in the administration and management of local collective and hourly working agreements amongst all direct reports.
- Promote, develop and drive customer focus, operational efficiency and performance management process within frontline teams.
- Practice active and passive supervision of frontline teams.
- Support shift scheduling to meet production demands.
- Support meeting daily production targets.
- Responsible for participating in the short-term planning and execution of maintenance activities along with the maintenance department.
- Involved in the daily implementation and compliance to the Maintenance Module, including but not limited to creating job plans, completing equipment inspection logs, and managing maintenance backlogs.
- Manage the shipping and receiving responsibilities onsite.
- Loading and unloading of delivery trucks using forklift, document and record parts deliveries for production and maintenance purposes.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory records of parts, safety equipment and general housekeeping of parts storage area.
- Works closely with the Maintenance Department to ensure storage location and stock is adequate.
- Participate in monthly EBIT reviews to ensure its accuracy and to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- When required assist in the management of all frontline shipping personnel.
- Coordinate with sales and dispatch personnel to ensure daily customer requirements are met.
- Coordinate with Quality and Shipping personnel to address shipping quality issues related to production issues.
- Supports for short-term planning and execution of activities in accordance with the Mining Plan.
- Ensures site level compliance to Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) requirements, including but not limited to site plans, rehabilitation and dust control.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the site Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Supports daily water taking data to ensure compliance with Permits to Take Water (PTTW) at all respective sites.
- Assist in preparation for and participate in environmental site audits.
- Ensure all direct reports comply with operational standards developed to manage activities and mitigate our environmental impact.
- Inspect site and plant for dust emissions and enact action plans to keep it under control.
- Check and monitor pumps.
- Act as an additional contact with relevant stakeholders in the local community, including neighbors, competitors and government officials.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- An undergraduate degree, college diploma, or equivalent field experience
- A background including computer skills
- Strong communication
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent people management skills
