Journeyperson Welder

Overview
The Welder will support with fixing and repairing equipment such as; limestone crushers, vertical roller mills, horizontal mills, kiln, cooler, conveyors, material handling equipment, loaders, excavators, washing equipment, and cyclones. In this role, you will be able to fabricate and weld with limited direction. This is a fast paced production environment, so mechanical aptitude is important. You will need to be a safety minded individual who can think on their feet and adapt to changing situations.
Responsibilities:

Perform welding repair and maintenance to production-related equipment, machinery, and structures.

Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick welding, flux cored, metal cored and gas welding to join metal components according to project specifications.

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to execute precise welds.

Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements.

Use non-destructive testing methods when necessary to assess weld quality.

Prepare work pieces by cleaning, cutting, and shaping metal using various tools and equipment.

Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of components before welding.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Responsible to ensure all work is completed in a safe manner.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
-
Experience welding in an industrial environment is an asset.
-
Valid driver’s license
-
Journeyperson/red seal certification
Skill Set:
-
ability to fabricate and design

use of air arc equipment

gas cutting

Plasma Cutting
-
Gouging
-
Stick welding
-
Able to read engineered blueprints.

Ability to work in all weather conditions

CWB or other certifications is an asset
Work Environment:

Must be able to work under pressure

Must be comfortable working at heights

Must be comfortable working in confined spaces.

Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

Must be physically fit to perform required duties

Must be able to work overtime and weekends when necessary
