Overview: 

 

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Concrete Curb and Gutter Foreman to oversee and manage all aspects of concrete curb and gutter construction projects. As a Foreman, you will be responsible for leading a team of construction workers, coordinating project activities, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and promoting a safe working environment. This is a crucial role that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of concrete construction techniques.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of a construction crew engaged in concrete curb and gutter projects.
  • Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of project requirements.
  • Assign tasks to crew members, provide clear instructions, and ensure they have the necessary tools and equipment to perform their duties efficiently.
  • Oversee the layout, excavation, forming, pouring, and finishing of concrete curbs and gutters to ensure adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
  • Monitor work progress, identify and resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction, and implement necessary corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project coordination and timely completion.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate measures to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Ensure that all materials, equipment, and tools are properly maintained, stored, and utilized efficiently to minimize downtime and project delays.
  • Train and mentor crew members, provide guidance on construction techniques, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including project progress, materials used, and labor hours for reporting and documentation purposes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of construction materials and equipment as per project requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new construction methods, and safety regulations to implement best practices and optimize construction processes.

Safety: 

 

  • Provide a safe working environment for workers on site.
  • Follow rules, safe work practices and procedures.
  • Perform job duties in a manner that will not create a hazard to their own health and safety, or the health and safety of other employees.
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
  • Identify and report workplace hazards and help their control or elimination.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (this includes hard hats, gloves, reflective vests, hearing and eye protection and protective footwear).
  • Immediately report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor.
  • Hold regular safety meetings.

Environment:

 

  • Ensure that all spills are contained as quickly as possible.
  • Report spills to your supervisor immediately.
  • Ensure that all spills kits are available and procedures are followed.

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in concrete construction preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Concrete Curb and Gutter Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of concrete construction techniques, including layout, forming, pouring, finishing, and curing of curbs and gutters.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a construction crew.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in construction, with a commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
  • Proficient in using construction tools, equipment, and measuring instruments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with project stakeholders, team members, and suppliers.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor environments, lift heavy objects, and perform strenuous tasks as required.

Compensation: 

 

  • $ 44.75 per hour
