Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities
- Visual inspection of stacks, reserves and loading faces and notify operations and the Quality Manager if there are any identified problems (presence of segregation, contamination, lack of equipment, etc.).
- Follow the sampling frequency indicated in the Quality Plan for qualitative monitoring in production and delivery.
- Perform particle size and intrinsic tests according to the Quality Plan, Standards and Standard Methods and record the results in appropriate systems.
- Notify operations and the Quality Manager in cases of non-conformity.
- At the request of the Supervisor, travel to sites to collect samples and perform necessary tests.
- Respond to the Supervisor’s requests in the application of the Quality Plan.
- Clean the lab at the end of each day and complete basic maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure that the technical data sheets and certificates of conformity are up to date and available in accordance with the quality plan, local standards and requirements of certification programs.
- Proficiency in laboratory engineering analysis for all required tests.
- Providing technical advice to customers regarding specifications or non-conformances.
- Training and supervision of lower level assistants.
- Active contribution to internal audits (ISO, quality, safety) and follow-up of corrective action plans.
- Participation in simple quality complaint investigations, in the laboratory or on-site.
- Any other related tasks.
Experiences and Skills
- Certificate of College Studies (AEC) in quality control of materials civil engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a laboratory environment or equivalent expertise.
- Excellent knowledge of quality control standards and processes.
- Ability to analyze data and draw accurate technical conclusions.
- Relational fluency to interact with clients and internal teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Care about the accuracy of information taken
- Fluency in French (spoken and written)
- Valid driver’s licence (Class 5)
