ABOUT THE ROLE

Lafarge has immediate openings for experienced Precast Labourers to join our Precast operation in Winnipeg, MB. Precast Labourers are responsible for aiding in all areas of the plant. They are responsible for collecting materials, pulling strand, setting up forms under supervision, and basic concrete placing. They participate in housekeeping and various other tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

Position, assemble, or dismantle forms for concrete pouring under supervision.

Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant, either manually or using powered equipment.

Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers as required.

Assist with minor repairs and routine maintenance when needed.

Remove rubble and debris, clean excess concrete from molds, and maintain equipment cleanliness.

Participate in daily Pre-Production Meetings to understand daily objectives and tasks.

Complete Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) before starting each task.

Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company policies and safety procedures.

Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent professional experience.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; precast concrete experience is considered an asset.
Required Technical Skills: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.

Comfortable performing repetitive tasks, including kneeling and standing for extended periods.

Must be willing to work flexible hours, including overtime when required.

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
