Quality Control Technician

Overview
The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for the effective management of product quality control and quality processes to ensure product performance, cost management, effective reserve utilization, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, technical expertise, and the ability to work closely with various teams to achieve quality excellence.
Responsibilities
Safety:
- Implement and enforce Lafarge's safety policies and ensure compliance with all relevant government legislation.
- Conduct safety inductions for visitors to the Quality Lab or site as required.
- Execute Job Hazard Analyses for QC tasks and implement necessary action items to mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement Lab/QC Safety Improvement Plans to enhance safety protocols.
Product Performance:
- Implement programs and processes to ensure compliance of all products in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
- Implement Lafarge's Quality Program, including sampling, testing, reporting, and follow-up for all products as determined for each site of responsibility
- Record, monitor, and communicate Aggregate KPI performance to key stakeholders and investigate variances from the plan, establishing corrective actions as necessary.
- Lead or participate in the development and implementation of site-specific actions to reduce and/or optimize long products, including innovating new combination materials.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operational staff to align and ensure product performance meets customer expectations.
Human Resources:
- Participate in the development and implementation of site-specific product performance knowledge for Operations staff to enhance their understanding and expertise.
Technical Support:
- Participate in Quality Audits and assist in developing and implementing Action Plans for Quality Improvement to maintain and enhance product quality.
Financial Accountability:
- Ensure the efficient utilization of resources provided and optimize costs where practical and possible

Qualifications
- Possess a full G-class Driver's License.
- Minimum 2-year College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology - eligibility for C.Tech. or
- C.E.T. Designation
- Availability for shift work as required.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction materials (aggregates, asphalt and concrete) industry; should have excellent communication and computer skills, and must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
