Mobile Equipment Area Manager

Job Purpose

 

  • Scope covers major corrective repairs, internal rehabilitation activities, and external rehabilitation scope follow up, in addition to preventive maintenance auditing for repaired equipment and in-house renovation projects for the RMX fleet. A secondary part of the scope is the management of mobile equipment parts in the warehouse, specifically those related to major repairs.
  • The scope represents a second line defense for the running RMX fleet in regard to providing continuous backup, in addition to being responsible for assets rejuvenation and rehabilitation for the idle and dead equipment. This role would normally result in better service and better representation for LRMX and hence better customer feedback and retention, and more opportunities for growth in the market.

Key Responsibilities

1-Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.

 

2-Functional:

1. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensures full compliance with company HSE standards, OEM recommendations, and legal requirements.
  • Conducts regular safety inspections and ensures implementation of corrective actions.
  • Leads incident/near-miss investigations related to mobile equipment and workshops.

2. Maintenance Strategy & Reliability

  • Develops and updates maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and lifecycle.
  • Ensures integration of predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, oil sampling, diagnostics tools).
  • Reviews and optimizes maintenance schedules based on equipment performance trends.

3. Budgeting & Cost Optimization

  • Prepares annual maintenance and CAPEX budgets for the assigned area.
  • Tracks maintenance cost drivers and implements cost-reduction initiatives (repair vs replace, local fabrication, etc.).

4. Contractor & Vendor Management

  • Evaluates and supervises external maintenance contractors and service providers.
  • Conducts technical evaluations for external workshops and ensures SLA performance.

5. Documentation & Compliance Audits

  • Ensures accurate documentation of equipment history, major failures, and repair logs.
  • Maintains compliance with audit requirements (internal, group, or regulatory).

6. Operational Coordination

  • Works closely with dispatch, operations, and site managers to prioritize equipment repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Participates in daily operations meetings to provide equipment readiness updates.

7. Fleet Lifecycle Management

  • Supports equipment lifecycle planning including overhaul, replacement, disposal, and asset renewal strategy.
  • Ensures proper commissioning, testing, and onboarding of new equipment.

8. Emergency Breakdown Management

  • Leads critical breakdown response and ensures timely resolution to avoid operational impact.
  • Coordinates contingency plans when essential equipment becomes unavailable.

 

 

Education

 

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  :Education

  • Bachelor in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with years of experience in Ready-mix equipment.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Up-to-date & with high level of awareness in RMX heavy equipment i.e. (pumps, truck mixers, wheel loaders and generators).
  • Advanced knowledge in repairs including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic aspects.

 

Experience:

  • +10 years of experience in RMX equipment maintenance.
