 Process Engineer (12 Months Contract )

Job Purpose

A Process Engineer in the Projects Department plays an important role in supporting various technical aspects of projects from concept to commissioning. This includes assisting in process design activities, preparing technical calculations and specifications, reviewing engineering documents, and supporting equipment selection to help achieve project objectives. He/She works closely with different stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment of process requirements. Additionally, the Process Engineer supports the identification and resolution of technical issues, participates in risk and safety assessments, adapts to project changes, and maintains a focus on delivering efficient and reliable solutions within the defined constraints of time, budget, and quality. Ultimately, his/her purpose is to  contribute to successful project execution while developing a broad understanding of operational and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that the highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.

 

 

Functional:

Process Engineering Support:
o Support process engineering activities during different project phases, including process calculations, data analysis, and preparation/review of technical documents and drawings.

Project Coordination:
o Assist in coordinating project activities with different departments, contractors, and stakeholders to support smooth project execution and alignment of technical requirements.

Process Design & Review:
o Participate in the development and review of process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass and heat balances, and process specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Technical Support:
o Provide technical support during engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases to help resolve process-related issues.

Equipment & Material Support:
o Support the selection and evaluation of process equipment and materials to ensure suitability, reliability, and compliance with project specifications.

Time & Progress Follow-up:
o Follow up on assigned tasks and project activities to support timely completion and highlight potential delays or technical concerns.

Risk & Safety Participation:
o Participate in process risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and safety reviews to help identify and mitigate operational and process risks.

Documentation & Reporting:
o Prepare and maintain technical reports, calculations, project documentation, and progress updates as required.

Communication:
o Maintain clear and effective communication with project teams and stakeholders regarding technical matters, progress updates, and process requirements.

Quality Compliance:
o Ensure assigned engineering activities and deliverables comply with project standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.

Issue Resolution:
o Support the identification and resolution of technical and operational issues during project execution and commissioning activities.

Education, Qualifications & Experience

 

Education:  Bachelor degree in Engineering, Science or related field

Technical Skills: 

Basic understanding of process engineering principles and industrial processes

Process calculations and data analysis

Ability to read and review PFDs, P&IDs, and technical drawings

Technical documentation and report preparation

Familiarity with project engineering and coordination activities

Equipment and material selection support

Risk and safety awareness

Problem-solving and analytical skills

Demonstrates willingness to learn, problem-solving ability, and a Team Player.

Good communication and teamwork skills

Familiarity with engineering standards and quality requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools

Basic knowledge of project planning and scheduling tools is an advantage

 

Experience:

1–3 years of experience in industrial operations, process engineering, or projects environment. Exposure to engineering projects, commissioning activities, or process improvement initiatives is preferred.

 

Cement Industry is a preferred.
