Quality Manager

HERACLES Group, Greece's leading company in the field of building materials and a member of HOLCIM, is seeking a dynamic Quality Manager to join our Quality function, based at our Milaki Plant.

Role & Key Accountabilities

The purpose of the role is to ensure the consistent quality performance of the Milaki Plant by leading quality control, laboratory activities and product quality management. Drive continuous improvement of product quality through performance analysis, effective quality control systems and close collaboration with Production, Process, Technical Sales and other relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards and product specifications.

• Lead and coordinate the analysis and interpretation of quality performance data, ensuring that deviations from targets are promptly identified and corrective actions are implemented. 

• Ensure the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the plant quality control plan, systems and procedures. 

• Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, product specifications and internal requirements. 

• Manage the Quality Laboratory, ensuring reliable and timely testing, appropriate use of methods, equipment and controls. 

• Define and monitor the product portfolio and product recipes, in collaboration with Process, Production, Marketing & Sales and other relevant stakeholders. 

• Monitor product performance, identify and implement opportunities for quality improvement and product optimization. 

• Assess the impact of alternative raw materials and alternative fuels (ARM/AFR) on product quality, in collaboration with Process and other relevant functions, and ensure appropriate quality controls are implemented. 

• Monitor customer satisfaction and product performance in collaboration with Marketing & Sales and define corrective actions where required. 

• Support Technical Sales in the investigation and follow-up of customer complaints and quality-related customer issues. 

• Support the development, testing and industrial implementation of new products and product solutions. 

• Ensure that quality requirements are appropriately considered in plant projects, operational changes and new installations. 

• Identify and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives related to quality performance, laboratory operations and product consistency. 

• Provide technical guidance and support to plant personnel and relevant commercial teams on quality-related matters. 

• Promote the professional development of the Quality team through coaching, training and individual development planning. 

• Transfer best practices and experience from other plants and contribute to knowledge sharing within the Group. 

• Collaborate with Group functions, technical institutions and universities, where relevant, on quality and product development initiatives. 

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant Engineering degree. 

• 4+ years of previous experience in the cement industry in process/quality related positions. 

• Fluent level in English. 

• Thorough knowledge of cement manufacturing process, equipment design, and operation. 

• Expertise in process inspections, measurements, and audits. 

• Deep understanding of clinker/cement chemistry, cost levers, and environmental impact. 

• Analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy. 

• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and support decisions. 

• Possess an inquisitive mindset, decision-making capacity, self-confidence, and results-oriented behavior. 

• Familiarity with Quality & Environmental Management Systems, Be Ready Training, Environmental/Quality Engineers Development programs, and H&S Training Matrix Kit.
