About the Job

Within the framework of the plant objectives and yearly action plans, define and implement the short, medium and long term strategies to meet the plant products specifications (official standards, market objectives, operational targets) while contributing to optimise the global costs in his/her field (clinker reactivity, raw mix composition, etc.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Ensure all quality related tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner
  • Communicate clearly on information relating to potentially dangerous situations and get confirmation that they are correctly understood.
  • Check that chemical and physical testing is correctly handled. Ensure a good utilization and a safe storage of tests and products
  • Analyse risks related to sampling points and make sure they are correctly addressed
  • Coordinate the implementation and update of the plant Quality Management System and monitor its implementation
  • Follow the quality of products on a daily basis and take all appropriate actions to ensure that customers do not receive out of specification products
  • Define internal quality objectives for intermediate products.
  • Analyse specific risks regarding quality. Implement preventive actions when necessary
  • Implement specific procedure when necessary to address quality incidents.
  • Follow and implement the evolution of products official standards
  • Define with Marketing & Sales rep. and the Production Manager the Quality contract of the plant (products specifications, plant capability, etc.
  • Design and implement the relevant Quality control plans.
  • Follow up on a daily basis the compliance with these plans in order to guarantee the quality of the products ready to be dispatched.
  • Conduct quality audit in conjunction with the TC.
  • Define the missions and objectives of his/her workforce and carry out their performance reviews, promote the quality of the work and motivate his/her personnel, develop their skills to keep abreast with new management methods and tools.
  • Analyse on a regular basis the performance level of existing products.
  • Lead the process when a new product is being developed by carrying out industrial tests, and analysis of results.
  • Evaluate impacts of the use of cementitious, alternative fuels and alternative raw materials and propose measures to prevent possible risks on products.
  • Follow-up and ensure close out of customer complaints with feedback to all relevant stakeholders.
  •  Comply with EMS Quality Instrumentation activities
  • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant

 

Who you'll be working with

What we are looking for

  • BSc or equivalent in any engineering discipline (mechanical /electrical engineering as main subjects)
  • 5 – 10 years postgraduate experience
  • Working knowledge of cement manufacturing processes:
  • Knowlege of Raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, grinding and packing operation.
  • Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits
  • Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills

  • Working knowledge of equipment operation procedure.
  • Able to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.
