About the job
Work with the HR Lead to proactively manage all people based activity within designated area from both an operational and strategic HR perspective, leading and supporting the development and implementation of HR policy and activity.
Provide a consultancy service that delivers HR best practice and commercially focused HR solutions that support the business area in conjunction with specialist HR functions.
What you'll be doing
- Work with the HR Lead to implement the agreed HR Strategy in line with functional plan, ensuring HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organization, as and when they occur.
- Work with the Resourcing team on recruitment campaigns for the business area with a view to building high performance teams, carry out new employee on-boarding activities and ensure necessary pre-employment checks are conducted (either directly or through third party).
- Support the development and continuous improvement of HR systems and policies in line with best practice.
- Support line managers to conduct regular reviews of their talent using a range of tools including Functional Resource Committees (FRC) ensuring data and information from other critical processes such as Individual Development Plans and feedback is considered
- Coach and support line managers with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage their people in line with people plans and promote performance management culture as a means of driving business improvement by ensuring clear objectives, feedback and the use of feedback to improve service delivery.
- Work with the HR Lead in the preparation of materials, analysis and presentations for the PFT, FRCs and Talent reviews
- Support the development and continuous improvement of HR systems and policies in line with best practice
- Work with the HR Lead to identify opportunities and areas of improvement to support improved organizational and people performance.
- Work in partnership with the operational management teams to identify opportunities and areas of improvement to support improved organizational and people performance in line with business needs.
- Work with the HR Lead on change management initiatives including departmental restructures, job role design, outsourcing to improve cost and efficiency
- Work closely with the L&D Manager to identify development needs and appropriate interventions to close the gap(s).
- Provide HR data reporting and analysis to satisfy routine and ad-hoc organizational requirements and key HR analysis e.g. headcount, organizational charts, Full Time Employee tracking and expat management
- Under the direction of the HR Lead manage projects and assist in the delivery of HR initiatives to support business needs as required.
- Collaborate with and support other roles within the O & HR function as required
- Work in partnership with the O & HR teams to ensure that the appropriate operational HR functions are enacted to deliver change outcomes.
Additional Industrial specific responsibilities - Working with the Head of HR, Industrial/IR, manage employee and industrial relations for the plant and provide support and guidance to the Plant HRBP.
- Manage the interface with relevant statutory bodies and trade associations in the locality as agreed with the Plant HRBP in conjunction with Head of HR Industrial/IR.
- Support the Plant HRBP in the deployment of policies for effective employee / industrial relations management across the plant.
- Support the Plant HRBP on employee and industrial relations issues to ensure peaceful industrial atmosphere.
- Liaising with Head of HR Industrial/IR, support Plant HRBP in resolving industrial relations crisis in plant.
- Provide necessary support for the Plant HRBP during salary negotiations
- Monitor the social climate in the plant and provide regular feedback to the Plant HRBP and Head of HR Industrial/IR.
