Journeyman/Electrician
ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for compliance with the National Electrical Code for electrical installations as well as licensing of electrical personal. Troubleshoots, tests and repairs all types of equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Responsible for performing process and production maintenance throughout the facility.
- Electrician includes but not limited to: electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, troubleshooting, programming, plumbing, fabrication, parts rebuilding/refurbishing and preventive maintenance with the goal of improving facility and process reliability.
- Assemble, install, repair and dismantle industrial machinery and heavy equipment (pumps, conveyors, bearings).
- Read blueprints, align machines and equipment using various tools. Perform root cause analysis and identify potential problems and perform corrective actions.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures. Participates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement processes (operational excellence, learn manufacturing, etc.).
- Ensures reliability of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines: following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications: trouble shooting malfunctions.
- Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Sound electrical background preferred.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts: using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Removes defective parts by dismantling devices: using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools: welding, machining and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Contributes to team effort by achieving performance metrics.
- Comply with all OSHA safety and health regulations.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders.
- Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming.
- Skilled in the use of measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and rulers.
- Experience with welding, machining, and fabrication is a plus.
- Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Must be willing to work OT and weekends
