As we continue to look for more sustainable ways to build, we need world-class talent to join our team. We are seeking a Government Relations Intern for Summer 2025 who is passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and keen to grow, learn, develop and thrive in our high-performance culture. This opportunity will be a 10-week, paid internship beginning June 2nd, 2025.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Assist growing Government Relations function by researching, drafting and developing position papers on legislative and regulatory issues impacting Holcim Building Envelope. These issues include environmental policy, energy efficiency, sustainability, tax, government funding opportunities, building code revisions, etc.
Research, design and draft background (i.e., “grassroots”) documents used to highlight HBE’s presence in the US, for use in federal and state advocacy efforts.
Virtual participation/observation of legislative, regulatory or industry events involving public policy issues of concern to HBE, and provide written summaries of these online events.
Assist Government Relations function in developing miscellaneous reports, internal communication documents, presentations, etc. used to educate HBE teammates on the value equation of HBE advocacy.
Provide support for HolcimUS Government Relations activities related to environmental policy legislative and regulatory matters pertaining to the cement, ready mix concrete and aggregates industries.
Create a presentation at the end of your internship to executive leadership regarding what you have learned and what you believe you have contributed to the business.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Political Science, Government, Environmental Policy, or a related major.
Strong academic performance.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
Team oriented and able to work with all levels of the organization.
Willing to spend time out in the field getting to know the business firsthand.
SCHEDULE AND ENVIRONMENT:
This is an onsite role; the intern will be expected to be onsite Monday - Friday and work an 8-hour shift (40 hours per week is mandatory).
This position is domiciled in a traditional office environment, within the Holcim Government Relations office in Nashville, TN.
You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from your worksite for the summer.
Throughout the duration of your internship, you may be required to travel for site tours, shadow experiences, or intern events.
