We are currently looking for multiple skilled Packager to work out of our Rockland, MA facility.

Holcim is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of a comprehensive product portfolio for commercial building performance solutions. 

 

The Packaging Operator packages materials and products manually for shipment.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare product for packaging per work order instructions.
2. Coordinate the packing process, set up packing equipment and obtain the proper packaging container(s) per the work order list.
3. Pour product and/or fill containers from spout or chute per packaging instructions.
4. Starts, stops, and regulates speed of conveyor.
5. Monitor container weight during and after the fulfillment process to ensure the proper weight requirements have been met, adjusting product quantity as necessary.
6. Close and seal finished product container(s).
7. Label containers, container tags, and/or product containers in preparation for shipment.
8. Sort and package filled containers per packaging instructions, packing special arrangements or selections of product as necessary.
9. Record information such as weight, time, date packaged and lot number.
10. Assist in monitoring inventory of packaging materials in order to maintain the proper levels of stock to meet production demands.
11. Provide Laboratory Department with packaged product samples as requested.
12. Monitor quality of product through constant visual check to ensure no discoloration and/or debris is in the finished product.

 

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
2. One (1) to three (3) months related packaging experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
4. Competence in math computation necessary (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).
5. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and/or oral
instructions, and to resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
