ABOUT THE ROLE

The HR team’s purpose is to enable the execution of our business strategy. Based in Saginaw, MI the Director of HR for the Duro-Last Business Unit reports to the President of Duro-Last, working in close connection and jointly with the Holcim Building Envelope Divisional HR leadership and specialist teammates. This teammate provides strategic partnership to the business leadership and builds and maintains positive working relationships with a variety of internal customers. They will drive harmonization between the business unit and the Division to provide teammates a standard, best in class employee experience. This teammate has a passion for people, builds strong relationships, and engages with teammates at all levels of the organization, including Senior Leaders. This teammate will participate as a member of the Duro-Last leadership team, developing strategy and driving strategic initiatives. 


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Support full integration of Duro-Last HR into the HBE/Holcim policies, processes and business support.
  • Partner with the President and other members of the Duro-Last leadership team in establishing and evolving employee engagement efforts including but not limited to:
    • Provide leadership and partnership in all programs to reduce employee turnover;
    • Provide leadership in executing cultural and employee engagement efforts
    • Launch Division Onboarding for Duro-Last Business Unit
    • Lead efforts to build on and improve current employee communications including the facilitation of live monthly town hall “Zoom” meetings, smaller local employee meetings, written communications
  • Set the vision for excellence, support the team in setting aspirational goals within each segment to drive performance. Identify priorities based upon business impact.
  • Partner with all HR Leadership peers to ensure proper prioritization, alignment and support in each area, including HRBPs, TA,  Compensation, Employee Engagement and L&D
  • Optimize HR KPIs, proactively provide business leaders with key People related data and recommended actions to support improvement.
  • Build engagement with HBE HRIS, Identify system opportunities to enhance/ streamline team’s performance including opportunities for AI within HR functions
  • Drive standardization in all HR process, audit for performance
  • Identifies opportunities to improve/change processes; partners with other business areas as needed (HRBPs, Safety, Payroll, Ops, etc.)
  • POC between HRBPs and Benefits team, ABS, Dimensions, Legal to identify root cause of issues, develop preventative action plans and drive consistent communication across org
  • Frequent site visits to assess and identify opportunities for HRBP support/partnership improvement. 

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR 

  • BS Degree-Preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Development
  • 10 years of progressive responsibility in an HR environment including a minimum of 5 years of supervisory/ management experience 
  • Proven ability to drive teammate engagement and leverage resources across an organization
  • Experience with HRIS SuccessFactors, UKG timekeeping, SAP
  • Proficient in Excel
