Who is Holcim European Business Services?
Holcim European Business Services (EBS) is the internal Shared Service Center of Holcim for the European region, based in Kosice, Slovakia.
With a team of over 330 employees representing more than 20 nationalities, EBS provides a comprehensive range of financial & administrative services to the 23 countries of Holcim across Europe. These services encompass Reporting, Controlling, Accounting & Consolidation, Invoicing, Treasury, Procurement, HR administration, Recruitment, Payroll, Data Analytics, Sustainability and several others.
SUMMARY OF THE JOB
This position is located in Bratislava office, Slovakia.
The Technical Manager – MEA is responsible for leading all technical activities within the region, providing technical services and supporting the sales team. This role requires coordination of training sessions for Holcim waterproofing systems, as well as ensuring the delivery of high-quality field services, technical expertise, and estimating services. The position involves regular travel to key regions including Turkey, the Middle East, and India, and demands strong communication, leadership, and technical skills to manage demanding customers and tight deadlines effectively.
MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
People Management
● Lead and organize a team to meet the needs of field services, estimation services, and other sales support activities in the region.
● Establish priorities and procedures to ensure timely and accurate delivery of services.
Field Services
● Manage and guide the planning of technical representatives (Tech Reps).
● Review and distribute visit and inspection reports.
● Provide support to technical representatives on installation-related issues.
● Conduct site inspections and investigate complaints regarding installation and product defects.
Contractor Training Program
● Organize contractor seminars at BPU and local training centers.
● Prepare and perform technical presentations for contractors and stakeholders.
● Assist regional training centers with training programs.
Sales Support
● Assist the sales team during client visits, site meetings, and project specifications.
● Support the team with responses to queries related to projects, systems, and regional standards.
● Develop cost-effective and technically sound solutions for clients.
● Coordinate the necessary codes and approvals to enhance sales competitiveness.
● Analyze competitor products available in the market.
● Contribute to lobbying activities and participation in local technical and sustainability committees.
Estimating Services
● Support in technical calculations and design, including Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and wind-uplift calculations.
● Train and mentor others in estimating services and technical design.
Tools and Literature
● Assist in the creation, improvement, and review of technical documents and tools.
● Train team members and stakeholders in using these tools and literature.
Database Management
● Maintain the project and customer database (Salesforce).
● Generate reports and provide monthly updates to the supervisor on technical support activities.
Regional Codes &; Approvals
● Define the required testing for wind-uplift/fire safety and assist in setting up these tests.
● Ensure knowledge and compliance with regional codes, standards, and legislation.

PROFILE REQUIRED
Level of Education / Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
Specific Work Experience:
● Minimum of 6 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in flat roof-waterproofing.
Technical / Functional Skills:
● Strong technical expertise in waterproofing systems.
● Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
● Experience in using in-house calculation tools.
● Familiarity with regional codes and approvals.
