Who is Holcim European Business Services?

 

Holcim European Business Services (EBS) is the internal Shared Service Center of Holcim for the European region, based in Kosice, Slovakia.

With a team of over 330 employees representing more than 20 nationalities, EBS provides a comprehensive range of financial & administrative services to the 23 countries of Holcim across Europe. These services encompass Reporting, Controlling, Accounting & Consolidation, Invoicing, Treasury, Procurement, HR administration, Recruitment, Payroll, Data Analytics, Sustainability and several others.

 

Role overview

 

As an R2R Corporate Holdings Support Specialist, you will play a key role within the Record to Report (R2R) Tower, managing end-to-end accounting processes for assigned legal entities. Your responsibilities will include Fixed Assets and General Ledger (GL) activities, intercompany reconciliations, financial and regulatory reporting, and audit support. You will also collaborate closely with local finance stakeholders and operational business teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Managing bank statement processing and treasury accounting.
  • Calculating and recording accruals and other journal entries within general ledger activities, including fixed assets, inventory, and lease accounting.
  • Performing intercompany reconciliations and netting between Group entities.
  • Preparing Group financial reports in accordance with IFRS.
  • Managing audit requirements, including exception reporting.
  • Providing high-quality service to internal customers on-site, handling complaints and inquiries.
  • Supporting colleagues from various departments within the Global Shared Services Center.

 

Your qualifications, experience and skills 

 

  • At least five years of experience in General Ledger, Fixed Assets, or Reporting, with a solid understanding of general ledger processes.
  • A second university degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Expertise in SAP FI and/or SAP FC.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
  • ACCA or IFRS certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical competency.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
  • English – Upper Intermediate (B2) is a must; additional language skills are an asset.
