Description: 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Holcim (US) Inc. seeks a Health and Safety Coordinator based out of our office at 75 Pineview Drive, Buffalo, NY 14228. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position involves domestic/national travel up to 40% of the time.

 

The Health and Safety Coordinator will communicate, improve, and adhere to safety policies in all work environments and areas. The Health and Safety Coordinator’s job duties will include:

  • Coach leaders, set priorities, investment plans in health and safety, risk analysis, monitoring meetings, planning major maintenance shutdowns and maintenance in general.
  • Develop, monitor, and enforce Health and Safety principles, policies, and procedures for a cement plant, and assist leadership to drive behavioural changes to reduce incidents.
  • Apply state and federal Health and Safety regulations, including MSHA/WSIA/OHSA, within a heavy industry setting.
  • Provide day-to-day safety and health guidance to management, staff, and supervisorswithin a heavy industrial environment, and coaching/assisting supervisors/managers to complete thorough incident investigations.
  • Participate and/or lead safety audits on sites/entities.

 

REQUIREMENTS:
The position of Health and Safety Coordinator requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely-related field, plus 3 years of professional experience in the job offered or in an industrial safety support/management role.

 

The position requires 3 years of professional experience with each of the following:

  1. Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS) incident investigation system
  2. Working at heights safety
  3. Process and management safety
  4. Confined space safety
  5. Managing industrial safety programs, conducting safety training presentations, and overseeing safety systems.

 

SALARY: $91,291 per year
