Junior Surveyor

ABOUT THE ROLE
Duties include greenfield site surveys, site investigation, drilling surveys, face updates, mine plans and civil/engineering/plant layout.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Recording the results of surveys, verifies the accuracy of data, and prepares plots, maps, and reports.
- Perform Q/C checks on surveyor or owner supplied layout points for projects to ensure they match the design intent.
- Perform field collection of data using Trimble GPS systems for inventory at Holcim quarries.
- Create, manage and maintain project layout and construction data, including creating machine and data collector files for projects.
- Understand and perform machine control and field device upload processes.
- Establish and maintain standardized machine control/survey models and construction survey data for project-level operations.
- Travel to projects throughout Colorado.
- Perform site calibrations, layout and staking, as well as data collection and continued modeling to show progression of mining sites.
- Must have active driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel to job sites. Must have acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of MS Office, and AutoCAD, and excellent documentation skills
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s degree or 1 years of equivalent experience.
Field of Study Preferred: Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 1 years’ experience in topographical ground surveying preferably with experience in the quarrying or similar industry.
Required Training/Certifications:
Required Computer and Software Skills: Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, CAD / Digital Terrain Modelling software and Riegl scanner processing
Travel Requirements: Up to 70% to company sites

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
