ABOUT THE ROLE
The Internal Reporting Audit Manager role is a leadership role within the Regional Finance team. This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the external audit process, preparation of standalone financial statements of subsidiaries, helping in the compilation of parent financial statements and MD&A, M&A support, and various financial planning and analysis at the North American level.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Financial Audit & Accounting: Coordinating and managing external audits and hard close reviews of Holcim North American operations. Leading the preparation of legal entity financial statements and notes disclosures and getting the same audited from the external auditor. Providing accounting policy expertise for Holcim (US), Holcim (Canada), and Aggregates Industries US as per HARP (Holcim Accounting and Reporting Policies). Supporting regional FP&A team with the ad hoc reporting requirements. Helps in the compilation of parents' financial statements and MD&A for the parent.
- Statutory/Standalone Financial Statements: Preparation and completion of statutory/stand-alone financial statements under by relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements (US GAAP & SEC). Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial reporting, and collaborating closely with auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audit processes.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Providing support for the due diligence work required for M&A. Coordinating acquisition accounting including the preparation of purchase price accounting and supporting documentation for auditors (i.e. Support for goodwill on acquisitions).
- Leadership Responsibilities: Oversee a team of Financial Specialists by providing technical guidance and training, learning and development opportunities, coaching and mentorship, and overall leadership including day-to-day management and support.
- Ad Hoc Requirements: Working on special projects like restructuring programs accounting, new ASC implementations, etc. Researching and preparing technical accounting memos on issues such as joint control, pension, impairment, acquisition accounting, etc. under US GAAP guidance. Working on benchmarking exercise by comparing the KPIs and reported figures of Holcim against competitors in North America.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 7 years of equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Business with a major in Accounting and Finance
Required Work Experience:
- 5-7 years of accounting and financial management experience with increasing responsibility
- 1-2 years of supervisory and leadership experience
- Strong and demonstrated understanding of accounting principles, including controls and standards.
- The initiative is a key attribute to recognize problems/issues and propose the resolution
- Knowledge and understanding of business operational concepts
- US GAAP and SEC reporting experience is considered as an asset
- Knowledge of accounting within the manufacturing and/or construction industry would be an asset
- Project management experience preferred
Required Training/Certifications: preferred CPA or equivalent recognized accounting designation
Required Computer and Software Skills:
- Experienced with MS Office, Google Suite
- Strong computer skills, including spreadsheet and database applications
- Systems knowledge and interest are important to effectively utilize/leverage the SAP system
Travel Requirements: 10-20%
Additional Requirements:
- US GAAP and SEC knowledge and demonstrated financial/business analysis/cost control skills
- Self-starting, flexible, and responsive; able to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks/assignments within specified deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated strong leadership skills through the coaching and development of finance/audit staff. Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, as well as internal and external customers
- Effective planning and organizational skills (balancing multiple tasks and assignments within specified deadlines including the ability to articulate project status to the supervisor, other team members, and customers)
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
