Holcim is planning to spin-off its North American Business to unleash its full potential, capitalizing on North America’s oversized growth in construction led by the modernization of infrastructure, a surge in advanced manufacturing and AI operation and the growth of resilient cities.

Holcim plans to list the new company on the NYSE by the end of the first half of 2025 and establish its operations headquarters in the US to be fully dedicated to serving the North American market and pursue a growth strategy across the region.

The newly listed company will become North America’s leading building solutions company, with industry-leading market position to meet its customers' greatest ambitions with the most advanced building solutions from foundation to rooftop.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development & Strategy Manager serves as a key player in the analysis, planning, and
implementation of critical strategic and business development initiatives. S/He will analyze potential inorganic and organic opportunities, and perform financial valuations and business assessments including the identification of risks and opportunities. Assist with mergers and acquisitions due diligence and integration activities to ensure significant risks and opportunities are identified, quantified and considered as part of the transaction terms and overall acquisition plan. Assist management in the execution of the Company’s growth, cost savings, and productivity improvement strategies by providing financial valuation, project management, and research expertise.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work
    environments and areas.
  • Lead key analysis and evaluation on a variety of projects across the Company’s continuous stream of
    growth, cost savings, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Work with business leaders to develop and critically evaluate the underlying assumptions used to
    develop valuations of M&A targets.
  • Participate in and take a leadership role in multi-function teams to conduct due diligence, conclude
    findings, and incorporate impact on valuation, purchase terms, and integration.
  • Develop and facilitate post-acquisition activities in cooperation with the Project Management Office, to
    ensure successful integration of acquired organizations.
  • Assist in project management with integration of strategic initiatives by organizing and leading reviewing status reports relative to goal for timeliness, cost, and synergy.
  • Facilitate the ongoing evaluation and reporting on performance related to completed acquisitions,
    including performance relative to analysis used to justify the transactions.
  • Providing, developing, and maintaining an analytical fact base to support recommendations and
    decisions
  • Create detailed financial models and analyses of operating and financial performance, whether Holcim or competitor businesses, extensive market research, and general data mining. Financial skills (pro forma modeling, competitor financial benchmarking, valuation perspective development, investment thesis development) are key.
  • Drive the data collection process, analysis, and presentation of strategic, operational, or M&A projects, with the ability to consolidate and present all findings.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and
    environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these
    behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Bachelor degree in finance, law or related fields. Graduate business or finance degree and professional certifications preferred.
Required Work Experience: 4-6 years of experience in investment banking or related, progressive, rigorous finance positions
Required Training/Certifications: Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite (formerly known as Google Apps for Business, ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Travel Requirements: 10 – 30%

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved
    Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable
    law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal
    meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
