ABOUT THE ROLE
Holcim Us, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Floating Utility Operator to support the operations at the Recycling division located in Clinton, MD. This position will be responsible for operating and configuring multiple equipment. Also ensuring that the equipment works at its full capacity, Oversee heavy equipment maintenance, and perform preventative maintenance checks.
 WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
•    Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
•    Capable of properly operating heavy equipment (Preferably Excavators & Front loaders)
•    Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments.
•    Report required repairs or other findings to Area Manager.
•    Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks, and completes all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
•    Completes work orders in a timely manner; installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.
•    Assembling pieces of metal together or repairing damage in metal components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal into shape.
•    Performs the appropriate plant equipment inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance for both fixed and mobile equipment.
•    Responsible for preparing and welding steel and aluminum structures, appendages and equipment.
•    Performs routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment including handling welding repairs.
•    Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to Area Manager.
•    Prepares Plant reports as required and maintain an inventory of regularly used repair supplies or equipment.
•    Assists personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
•    Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
•    Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
•    Performs repairs as required on plant processing equipment and performs maintenance on plant grounds as required.
•    Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.
•    Rebuild or fabricate parts; repair electrical equipment.
•    Other duties as assigned.
 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

•    Education: High school diploma or equivalent
•    Required Work Experience: 2 years in a plant or industrial environment.
•    Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail
•    Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and maintenance (Preferably Excavators & Front loaders)
•    Reliable transportation 
•    Ability to work in inclement weather without restrictions
•    Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
•    Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
•    Required Computer and Software Skills: Basic computer skills
•    OSHA 10 (Preferably)
•    Ability to lift 50lbs

•    Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
