ABOUT THE ROLE
The Learning and Development Department within the North American Industrial Development & Decarbonization (NA ID&D) group manages the processes and resources for deployment, delivery, and measurement of professional and technical skill and talent development in cement manufacturing in the North American region. This is done in alignment with the cement manufacturing and organizational strategy to deliver high levels of industrial performance. The team also supports the manufacturing organization’s implementation and adherence to group manufacturing programs, tools, systems and frameworks.
The Learning and Development Program Manager will ensure the best implementation of the L&D offer/portfolio throughout design, delivery and follow-up in order to support industrial performance The L&D Program Manager directly interfaces with manufacturing operations, human resources, the regional CIP group, the global manufacturing team and other stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and delivery of Learning & Development programs and group manufacturing programs.
This role can be based out of our Dundee, MI office or close proximity to a Holcim Cement plant and airport.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensure the most effective training offer and the most efficient delivery aligned with business (Cement Industrial Framework) and individual needs
- Structure and organize the training offered (global/regional/local) in collaboration with Regions and the Global HR L&D
- Meet, support and train Subject Matter Experts to apply blended learning methodologies (defining learning objectives, tools and practices)
- Run training needs analysis, identify gaps and agree on development priorities
- Ensure appropriate selection of participants for cement manufacturing courses (target audience, competency matrix, competency gap analysis, development path, etc.)
- Review, redeploy and follow-up on existing courses
- Facilitate training sessions and deliver overarching content of learning and development, ensure coordinate logistics with participants, Subject Matter Experts, and stakeholders.
- Manage vendor partner relationships to ensure high quality content and facilitation aligned to business needs
- Promote training programs through various forms of media and coordinate with regional communication group. Foster intercommunication and community forums.
- Support new employee onboarding and development for manufacturing employees
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s degree or 15 years experience in lieu of degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master’s degree
Field of Study Preferred: Organizational Development, Engineering, Technical Cement Manufacutring
Required Work Experience: 10 years experience. Technical cement manufacturing experience is preferred
Travel Requirements: 30%

- Change management and communication skills and experience strongly desired
- Strong program and project management skills and experience leading and managing multiple and complex work streams with multiple stakeholders and team members
- Strong organizational and co-ordination skills. Communicate with various stakeholders, ensure alignment and ensure programs are delivered efficiently and on time
- Familiar with key manufacturing functions and main development needs
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
