ABOUT THE ROLE
The Electrical Engineer will perform and coordinate electrical design and development of new equipment and the modification of existing electrical equipment consistent with plant standards, including equipment changes due to plant procedure changes
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Will be responsible for programming including CTI PLCs, Ifix HMI, Kiln High Level Control, Mill High Level Control.
- Will be responsible for network maintenance and IT internal support for servers, switches, virtual programming.
- Will be responsible for the predictive/preventative electrical maintenance program.
- Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for electrical equipment.
- Prepare engineering scope of work for plant electrical projects.Interface with contractors utilized in project work, including solicitation of quotes, selection and field direction.
- Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital plan.
- Conduct economic and operation feasibility studies on proposed electrical modifications and additions.
- Maintain a standard set of specifications for consistent application related to modifications or additions.
- Develop detailed preventative maintenance routines for all plant electrical equipment.
- Research/recommend new PM procedures based on newly developed technologies.
- Use SAP to purchase parts and services, review work orders, analyse reports and manage capital projects related to electrical project management and PM development.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience.
Field of Study Preferred: Electrical Engineering.
Required Work Experience: 0-3 years
Required Computer and Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Travel Requirements: 5%
Additional Requirements:
- Working knowledge of PLC programming and process control systems is preferred (Control logix Rslogix 5000 and SLC500).
- Experience in instrumentation, motors, starters and VFDs,
- Communication protocols. (Ethernet, Controlnet, Devicenet)
- Self-starter/highly motivated team player
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
