ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the Process Engineering function in a manner consistent with our common values, and ensure alignment with plant and company goals.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Assume leadership role for process, equipment selection, operating strategy, training, commissioning and other activities related to successful completion and world class operation of the plant.
- Provide comprehensive technical assistance for all process areas to optimize plant equipment performance and utilize technical expertise to continuously determine, evaluate and improve equipment/system performance.
- Actively promote the increased use of alternative fuels and raw materials by providing comprehensive technical expertise to evaluate AFR in respect to their impact on the process.
- Develop and implement solutions to eliminate/reduce impact of AFR on the process and communicate these activities within the organization.
- Systematically analyze system/equipment under-performance to determine cause and develop solutions.
- Perform technical evaluations as needed to help ensure the success of new installations and modifications.
- Contribute to plant budgeting process and accountable for continuous improvement of defined KPI’s, including development and administration of process department technical plan.
- Manage resources to ensure understanding and compliance with environmental regulations and Holcim’s sustainable development objectives.
- Support, demonstrate and facilitate the concepts of continuous learning and continuous improvement in a values based high performance organization.
- Serve as trainer/coach to develop comprehensive process knowledge throughout the plant.
- Provide leadership for the plant’s Process and Automation department. This encompasses setting technical direction on equipment operations to achieve production, quality and environmental goals.
- Active member of the plant’s Leadership Team. Responsible to represent the plant internally and externally and provide leadership in the community, on safety and environment, on diversity and inclusion, and representing the plant’s values.
- Support the plant’s strategic vision by providing process and automation technical vision to meet the plant’s long term goals, including but not limited to sustainability, product development and performance, alternative energy and fuels, thermal and electrical efficiency, and costs.
- Ensure the plant’s automation systems is well maintained, programming meets all company safety and protection standards, the reporting systems are properly managed and maintained, work with Area departments and Electrical and Instrumentation to meet all requirements and equipment protections.
- Development of all direct reports, in their technical training, cement manufacturing knowledge, programing and soft skills.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Chemical Engineering
Required Work Experience: 5-7 years
Travel Requirements: 0-10%
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
