ABOUT THE ROLE
Holcim US, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Batch Plant Operator RMX in Laplata, MD. This position will be responsible for accurately batching concrete mixes according to specified mix designs, ensuring proper proportions of cement, aggregates, water, and admixtures to meet quality and production standards.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Manage computerized or manual batching systems to accurately weigh and mix concrete ingredients according to specifications.
- Monitor the consistency, temperature, and mix of concrete to meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Schedule and prioritize batch orders, ensuring timely and efficient loading of concrete into mixer trucks.
- Track stock levels of cement, aggregates, admixtures, and water; coordinate with suppliers to replenish as needed.
- Regularly inspect batching machinery, scales, and conveyors; perform or schedule maintenance and calibrations to ensure operational accuracy.
- Accurately document all batch information, production logs, and quality control data for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Ensure Safety and Environmental Compliance: Follow all company safety protocols and environmental regulations; identify and report any hazards or malfunctions

- Understands different mix designs and how to batch according to project specs.
- Familiar with adjusting moisture content and materials to meet quality standards.
- Can accurately weigh and measure materials (cement, aggregates, water, admixtures).
- Experienced in operating automated and manual batching systems.
- Able to troubleshoot common equipment issues quickly
- Strong Communication Skills
- Can clearly document and report batch information.
- Understanding of Safety and Environmental Regulations
- Follows OSHA and company safety standards.
- Knows how to handle materials safely and prevent environmental spills or contamination.
- Works well under pressure, especially during high-demand times.
- Keeps production running on schedule without compromising quality.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends when required.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
