ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Production Engineer you’ll work closely with the operations team to ensure the highest levels of
environmental and safety compliance while also leveraging production excellence to create superior
products & services based on the highest productivity at the lowest cost of production. The Production
Engineer oversees and coordinates all aspects of Aggregate and or Concrete site operations, ensuring an
uninterrupted supply of product through monitoring production, shipping, cost, and quality. You’ll
participate in the development, leadership and management of the system based operational functions
as well as other digital tools available, and performance for our region.
The Production Engineer will be responsible for individual plant and production performance reporting,
i.e. running equipment efficiency, uptime, downtime, capex and trend analysis. You’ll be seen as an “SAP
Super User” and “Data Gatekeeper” who will oversee and assist with the administrative workflow,
material creation and management of inventory continuities.

50% Field / 50% Office

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Collects and compiles production data, creates process orders, validates data entries, and reviews sites. Verifies monthly production volumes.
  • Works with area management to adjust production schedules as required. Confirms and creates new production orders as required
  • Monitors and balances the book to physical inventory at each site at the product level. As a super-user, provides SAP PM support to site management.
  • Maintains master data for recipes, materials, resources, equipment and functional location registry.
  • Coordinate and assist Area Managers, Driver Supervisors, and the construction group in assuring FPE implementation / documentation and follow up.
  • To include training, monitoring and follow up of other safety related functions. Will assist current Safety Management.
  • Assist / perform product inventories for Ready-mix Concrete to improve and ensure improvement in workflow and help with month-end reporting.
  • Be a resource to production teams for training, technical assistance, follow-up, trouble shooting and special projects.
  • Assist the Area management in verifying production by product, maintaining accurate cost and controlling inventory. Validate and match physical inventories, calculate and analyze all productivity and material data. Control and update production diaries for the sites on a daily basis.
  • Maintenance Planning duties such as coordinating plant and truck repairs, enhancing preventative maintenance to improve operating efficiencies, oversee special projects.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 3 years of equivalent experience.

Field of Study Preferred: Engineering, Construction Management, Maintenance Planning, Project Management
Required Computer and Software Skills: SAP, TIS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved
  • Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
