ABOUT THE ROLE
To collect samples from job sites/batch plants and perform field and laboratory quality control testing to ensure product specifications are achieved. Help to maintain DOT product approvals. Use knowledge of concrete design to help innovate new products that meet internal and external aspirations. Provide verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists manager with customer service issues as directed. Assists in mix design development, and other construction materials testing. Assist with specification review and mix design submittal preparation. Assist with mix design maintenance.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Concrete Mix Designs: Responsible for overseeing and optimizing concrete mix designs. This includes collaborating with the team to create high-quality mixes that meet the specifications and requirements of our projects.
- SAP Integration: To streamline our processes and enhance record-keeping, the QC Coordinator would be tasked with leveraging SAP to manage and maintain all relevant records. This includes tracking concrete mix designs, and trial batches, and ensuring that all data is up to date.
- Record Keeping: The role would also involve meticulous record-keeping to guarantee compliance with industry standards and internal protocols. This includes maintaining accurate and detailed records of all trial batches, their outcomes, and any necessary adjustments made.
- Field Engagement for QC Supervisors: With the specialized coordinator handling essential tasks, our QC Supervisors can redirect their focus to spending more time in the field, collaborating with their teams and plant personnel.
- Compliance: The QC Coordinator would play a crucial role in ensuring that all trial batches adhere to industry regulations and internal quality standards. This involves staying abreast of updates in industry regulations and implementing necessary changes to maintain compliance.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Associate's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience.
Field of Study Preferred: Construction Management
Required Work Experience: 5 years
Required Training/Certifications: ACI and/or NRMCA Certifications
Additional Requirements:
- Understanding of CDOT specifications and test procedures for aggregates and concrete.
- Complete understanding of ASTM specifications and test procedures for concrete.
- Availability and willingness to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends to meet customer needs.
- Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. over uneven ground for a distance of 300 ft.
- The ability to get along with co-workers at all levels of the organization.
- The ability to pass the post-offer physical examination and pre-employment drug screening
- Availability to work some nights and weekends

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal
- Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
