ABOUT THE ROLE
The position is primarily responsible for driving employee productivity, operational efficiency, customer service levels, employee retention and satisfaction by assisting with overseeing and managing operations within the product line.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Translate customer requirements into state of the art production strategies and processes resulting in cost effective processing and the profitable manufacture of company products.
- Assists in developing operations – related plans, budgets and policies and procedures.
- Supervises employees, monitors activities and satisfies reporting requirements in accordance with Company’s policies.
- Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers by addressing issues, questions or concerns in a timely manner.
- Responds to and maintains positive employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale.
- Prevents and resolves problems involving individuals which arise out of or affect work situation
- Motivates employees and builds effective teams
- Contributes to departmental cost control
- Ensures adherence to budget and optimizes processes to achieve greater operational effectiveness with the support of the Operations Manager
- Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with Company Standards.
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience.
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Operations Management, Business, Project Management, Civil Engineering or other related disciplines or equivalent experience.
Required Work Experience: Min of 5 years of operations/production-related management experience in construction materials, or related industries or 5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Training/Certifications: PART 46 (MSHA), Drill and Blasting, Mine planning, Maintenance Management, Public Speaking, Finance, Logistics, 6 Sigma, Fleet Management
Required Computer and Software Skills: Proficiency in SAP, CAD, Google mail, Microsoft suite, Excel and Word
Travel Requirements: Frequent local travel to plants for which responsible 40%

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
