Role Overview

At Holcim, we are on a mission to build progress for people and the planet. As the International Mobility Manager, you will play a vital role in this journey by ensuring our talented people are empowered to make an impact wherever they are needed most. Based in our headquarters in Zug, you will contribute to the evolution of NextGen Mobility. This role is uniquely positioned for a tech-forward professional: you will manage complex international assignments and compliance while playing a critical role in digitizing our mobility function through the implementation of a state-of-the-art Global Mobility Platform.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full international assignment lifecycle, acting as a trusted advisor to international assignees and Corporate and Country People Partners and Managers from initiation to repatriation.
  • Act as a key project member for the design, implementation, and testing of Holcim’s new Global Mobility Platform and to bridge the gap between mobility processes and digital solutions, ensuring the system is fit-for-purpose to enable a true NextGen Mobility experience.
  • Following the initial platform launch, serve as the functional lead for our digital mobility roadmap, identifying ongoing tech enhancements and AI-driven process improvements to ensure a seamless, modern experience for our talent.
  • Partner with external providers to manage complex tax, immigration, and social security requirements, ensuring Holcim remains compliant with international regulations across our global footprint and stay continuously updated with immigration laws, tax regulations, and cultural considerations in relevant countries for Holcim to provide accurate advice and proactive support.
  • Support the annual compensation cycle for international assignees, coordinating salary reviews and recalculate balance sheets (COLA, hypothetical tax, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with external vendors, including relocation providers, tax and immigration consultants, ensuring high service delivery and cost-efficiency.
  • Assist in developing and updating global mobility policies and guidelines to ensure they remain closely aligned with business objectives and reflect industry standards.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 4 - 7 years of experience managing complex international mobility portfolios within a global, decentralized organization
  • A solid track record of expatriate payroll, shadow payrolls, and the coordination of tax equalization processes during annual cycles
  • Practical experience in the implementation or optimization of Global Mobility technology and a passion for driving "tech-first" process improvements
  • Previous experience in Talent Management or as an HR Business Partner is an asset

 

 

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of international tax, immigration, and employment law, with the ability to translate regulations into clear, actionable advice for the business

  • Experience in leveraging AI and data analytics to automate policy queries, increase reporting efficiency, and provide insights for mobility trends

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, combined with excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage complex, multi-layered projects

  • Uncompromising ethics and discretion in handling sensitive executive compensation and personal data, combined with high analytical accuracy

 

 

Education / Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, International Law, or an equivalent professional qualification 

 

Language Requirements

 

  • Strong command of English 
  • Additional languages such as German, French or Spanish are considered a plus
