Role Overview

 

The Junior Strategy Analyst is an integral, supportive member of the Group Strategy and M&A Team, responsible for contributing to high-priority strategic projects across the company. Leveraging their analytical mindset, the Analyst supports senior leadership and Strategy Managers to research, assess, and help execute strategies at both the Group and regional levels. 

Their responsibilities include data-driven corporate strategy development, market entry analysis, M&A research, and innovation scouting.

 

 

Main responsibilities

 

1 - Strategic Analysis and Development:

  • Support in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and industry trend monitoring to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats
  • Analyze internal performance data and identify areas for strategic improvement and optimization
  • Assist in the development of the company's long-term strategic plans, including vision, mission, and strategic priorities
  • Maintain and update strategic frameworks and models to support strategic decision-making
  • Perform preliminary evaluations of potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and divestitures in alignment with the corporate strategy
  • Research and screen potential M&A targets that align with the company's strategic objectives and growth priorities

 

2 - Strategic Project Management (including strategic M&A projects): 

  • Contribute to strategic projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with overall strategy
  • Draft project plans, timelines, and tracking mechanisms 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the execution of strategic initiatives
  • Monitor project progress, flag potential roadblocks, and assist in developing solutions
  • Provide analytical support to the M&A team on acquisition targets, due diligence, and integration planning

 

3 - Communication and Stakeholder Management: 

  • Draft clear and concise presentations and reports to communicate strategic recommendations and findings to senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Provide logistical and content support strategic discussions and workshops with various teams
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with peers across internal stakeholders
  • Help disseminate the corporate strategy across the organization to ensure alignment

 

4 - Management cycle and Group Exco support:

  • As a team, provide data and coordination for the yearly Market Campaign with Countries and Regions
  • As a team, support the full management cycle in close cooperation with Group FP&A
  • As a team, gather data for competitors' benchmark of quarterly results together with Group Finance
  • Organize and consolidate yearly country strategy reviews and plan review meetings
  • Provide administrative and research support to the CEO's ad-hoc projects and to the Executive Committee meeting agenda/minutes
  • Reporting to the Group Head of Strategy and M&A 

 

 

Profile required 

1 - Specific work experience:  

  • 0-2 years of professional experience (including internships) in Strategy, M&A, Corporate Development, or Finance
  • Exposure to management consulting or investment banking is advantageous
  • Interest in or exposure to capital-intensive/industrial sectors

 

2 - Technical / functional skills: 

  • Advanced Excel skills (financial modelling) and PowerPoint storytelling
  • Strong research capabilities and familiarity with strategic frameworks
  • Basic understanding of financial analysis and valuation techniques
  • Proficiency in the Google environment and data visualisation tools

 

3 - Behavioural competencies:  

  • Highly organized with proactive and eager-to-learn approach
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • A collaborative team player with a results-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

 

 

Education / Qualification

 

  • Master’s degree in business management, ideally with a focus on strategy and international business – or Master’s degree in engineering / natural sciences combined with MBA or similar
  • Strong foundational skills in problem-solving and critical thinking to analyze information from multiple sources and develop strategic recommendations 
  • High proficiency in creating compelling visual presentations and reports

 

 

 Language Requirements

 

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken). Additional languages are a plus (German or French)

 

Mobility requirements 

 

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required by project needs
  • Open to working in varying environments, including emerging markets or remote areas
