Objective: 
To supervise the safe and efficient operation of a concrete batch plant including concrete mixer drivers and plant maintenance to ensure delivery of quality product, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

 

Scope:
Volume: 20,000 m3
Staff: 8 employees
Customers: 100+ of varying sizes and sophistication
Tools:  Command Concrete Dispatch software and Concrete Direct GPS system

 

Responsibilities:

  • Batching:  In a fast paced, customer oriented environment, responsible for scheduling concrete deliveries, providing pricing to customers, ordering raw material as required for production and ensuring accurate batching to produce a quality product to meet the customers' requirements.
  • Health and Safety: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies.  
  • HR/Coaching & Mentoring: Supervise drivers and maintain a positive work environment
  • Environment: Demonstrate a commitment to meet/exceed environmental compliance.  
  • Reporting: Submit reports on time to area administer. Keep accurate records. 
  • Customer Service: Communicate with customers, the Plant Manager and Sales Representative to ensure a positive customer experience and identify sales opportunities. 
  • Transportation & Logistics: Creates efficient scheduling for routine maintenance, schedule jobs to ensure best use of fleet, effectively utilize maintenance programs to maximize plant up-time and manage costs.  
  • Administration: Manage inventory of materials and products, physical inventory counts, order materials, ensure payroll is accurate.
  • Operations Analysis and Action Tracking: Track performance, establish effective action plans and continuously improve the operations. Maximize turns per day / per truck. 
  • Plant Image: Maintains the plant in accordance with standard guidelines, ensure all policies are followed.   

 

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Safety performance objective is “Zero”, manage safe and healthy work practices of all staff
  • Responsible to achieve targeted KPI’s i.e. safety, service, volume delivered
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Utilization of best practices and operational management tools
  • Build strong employee morale
  • Implementation and adherence of Company policies, including environmental excellence, compliance with governmental regulations and record keeping
  • Development of operational personnel
  • Optimize productivity, and maximize labor and equipment utilization

 

Qualification Profile:
Minimum 3-5 year’s supervisory experience

  • Experience in the ready mix business preferred
  • Excellent Communication skills – verbal and written
  • Good organization and planning skills; able to multi-task, prioritize and maintain composure in a busy environment
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, SAP, Command-Alkon)
  • Self-Motivated
  • Available to work overtime as needed
  • Customer Service oriented
