Overview:

We are seeking an Apprentice Millwright to join our team and learn the trade of industrial machinery maintenance and repair. As an Apprentice Millwright, you will be responsible for assisting experienced Millwrights in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment, as well as learning to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. You will work in a fast-paced environment and be trained on the job to become a skilled professional in the field of Millwrighting.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist experienced Millwrights in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and motors.

  • Learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Use hand and power tools to dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery.

  • Learn how to fabricate and install new parts and equipment as needed.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

  • Learn how to align, level, and calibrate machinery to meet industry standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.

  • Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment at all times.

  • Attend training sessions and classes as required to continue learning and improving skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and principles.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working with hand and power tools.

  • Physical dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if needed.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

 

Experience and Skill Set:

  • Minimum two (2) years of heavy manufacturing/mining experience.

  • A commitment to working safely

  • Troubleshooting skills.

  • Self-starter: Capacity to work as part of a team and independently

  • Ability to work in various work environments (hot and cold).

  • Reliable and dependable

  • Experience operating heavy equipment, specifically a loader would be considered an asset

  • Proficiency in welding, fabrication & rigging

  • Valid driver's license

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and evenings as required by management

  • Must be able to walk and stand for periods at a time
