Apprentice Welder

Overview:
As an Apprentice Welder, you will assist in the repair and maintenance of equipment such as cone crushers, conveyors, loaders, excavators, washing equipment, and cyclones. This is a fast-paced production environment, so having a mechanical aptitude is essential. You'll be guided by experienced welders while gaining hands-on experience in fabricating and welding.
Responsibilities:
As an Apprentice Welder, you will:

Assist in performing welding repairs and maintenance on production-related equipment and structures.

Learn to utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, to join metal components according to specifications.

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to understand project requirements.

Conduct visual inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards.

Help prepare workpieces by cleaning, cutting, and shaping metal using various tools and equipment.

Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of components before welding.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Adhere to safety protocols to ensure all tasks are completed safely.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

Interest in welding and a desire to learn in an industrial environment.

Valid driver’s license is preferred.

Apprentice welder certification
Skill Set:
-
Basic understanding of fabrication and design concepts.

Familiarity with air arc equipment and gas cutting is a plus.

Ability to read and interpret engineered blueprints.

Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
-
CWB or other welding certifications are a plus.
Work Environment:

Must be able to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.

Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.

Physically fit to perform required duties

Availability for overtime and weekends when necessary.
